In addition, they also investigated the influence of ethnic differences on sleep disorders.
The participants were asked to rate their happiness levels ranging from 1-7, with the number 7 refers to the level of the happiest. They also questioned about difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or whether they get up early and could not sleep again.
The researchers also take into account other factors that may be the cause of the problem can not sleep, such as social networking, symptoms of depression, economic hardship and employment status, alcohol and caffeine consumption, presence of children, sexual activity, age and hormonal condition.
After entering all the elements of this support, the researchers found, women with high levels of marital happiness at risk of having fewer sleep disturbances compared with women who reported feeling unhappy in her marriage.
They also found that white women and African-American women tend to experience sleep disturbances compared with Japanese women, Hispanics, and Chinese women.
Based on research findings, white women and Japanese women reported marital happiness level higher.
Social networks are not associated with sleep disorders. This shows that happiness in a marriage is more associated with sleep disorders than a social network.
